Business Arising
- O&M Report and AIM Project Update:
Cody Heggie showed a slide presentation of the work performed over the past month. RS4 is 90% completed. The remaining work will be completed during down time and in the spring. The 9 Mile project is underway, but Ipex is having difficulty supplying the pipe. We have enough pipe to work until mid-January. Hopefully, we will have more pipe from Ipex by then. If not, then the crew will begin a project that was planned for the spring – installing mainline for 2 new pivots in the Stirling area that are replacing flood irrigation.
- Staffing Update:
Jason presented the advertisement for the open ditch riding position. The ad will be posted on the RID website and in the local papers. Resumes will be accepted until the end of January.
- Irrican – Kelvin Kado reported:
We have had a steady flow of assessment rates coming in. The revenue from the first round of acres sold will be received by December 31, 2021. We are preparing for 2021 year end and updating the assessment roll. The holiday office hours are: open until noon December 24th, closed December 27 – 30 and open December 31, 2021.
- Cross Coulee Pipeline Review – Jason reported:
Darin Wilde has started completing the detailed design of the project. We are also looking into using PIP pipe to completed the project to decrease the cost.
New Business
- Directors’ Items:
Craig Palmer brought forward an inquiry from a potential land purchaser, asking about adding irrigation acres to SW 16-6-21-W4. Jason explained that there is no turnout on that parcel, but when the line was designed it was planned for that parcel to have irrigation in the future. The parcel is under 50 acres so permanent acres could not be put on the parcel, but acres could be rented annually for it.
- AGM Preparation:
The Board discussed the spring AGM. At this time, it is unclear if it will be via zoom or in person. At this time, we will wait and see what future restrictions are in place in the new year. The date is tentatively set for March 24.
- Household Purposes Agreements (“HPA’s”):
The following HPA’s were applied for: Plan 752J, Block 44, Lot 1,2,7 and 8
On motion made by Rod Wendorff, and carried, the RID Board approves the HPA agreements as presented.
- Next Meeting Date
The next meeting is set for January 19, 2022.
Motion to adjourn – There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 2:45PM on motion by Rod Wendorff.
